This summer, ACPS will offer summer enrichment programs for students from kindergarten through high school at a variety of locations.<\/p>\n

Programs include kindergarten and middle school prep programs, summer band camp, programs for middle school students needing support in math, high school students who need to make up credits or want to get ahead, and a dual language academy.<\/p>\n

The highly successful Summer Enrichment Program launched last year that incorporated a summer camp style with high standards of learning will also be offered to students who could benefit from the program.<\/p>\n

Below is an outline of programs, with details about who may attend each program, how to register and who to contact for additional information.<\/p>\n

KINDERGARTEN PREP (K-PREP)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Dates:<\/strong> August 15-19

\nLocations:<\/strong> all elementary schools except Samuel W. Tucker (Mount Vernon offers its K-Prep during its Summer Dual Language Academy)

MIDDLE SCHOOL PREP<\/h2>\n

\nWho may attend: <\/strong>Rising kindergarten through fifth grade students from MVCS and rising kindergarten through fifth grade dual language students from John Adams Elementary School.<\/p>\n

Registration Fees:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kindergarten:<\/strong> Week 1 is free. Weeks 2-3 cost $100 per child. Free\/reduced price lunch eligible families pay $25 per child.<\/p>\n

First-Fifth Grades:<\/strong> $150 per child. Free\/reduced price lunch eligible families pay $50 per family.<\/p>\n

Fees apply to the first two children per family. All children after the first two are free. Includes daily breakfast, lunch and transportation.<\/p>\n

This free, exclusive experience helps students in grades three through eight enhance their skills in reading, writing and mathematics. Students will engage in a range of hands-on learning experiences, including projects and visits to Alexandria and Washington, D.C. landmarks. Breakfast and lunch are served for all students.<\/p>\n

MUSIC CAMP<\/h2>\n

\nWho may attend:<\/strong> Rising fifth- through ninth-grade band and orchestra students in ACPS schools

Students are taught level-appropriate skills to improve their playing \u2014 note reading and technique \u2014 in a fun-filled, relaxed environment. Instruments will be provided. TRANSITION TO ALGEBRA<\/h2>\n
