Meet Your Mighty Titan — Anjuli DeWarkar

October 14, 2009 by Robert Anderson

It is hard to name someone more polite and all around kind then Anjuli,” said Ben Goodwin, a T. C. student, about Anjuli Dewakar, a member of the T. C. varsity field hockey team.Katelyn Clarke, one of DeWakar’s field hockey teammates added . “Yeah, but I wouldn’t mess with her on the field!

DeWakar, an avid Titan field hockey player, is one of the 2009 Varsity Field Hockey co-captains. DeWakar, who stands quite tall, is often characterized by her beaming smile at school. She is an offensive player for the Varsity team and it is not a rare occurrence to see her score. She has made it clear  that field hockey is not her only love. When asked about her hobbies her immediate answer was lacrosse. DeWakar, a junior, has played lacrosse for T. C. Williams since her Sophomore year and absolutely adores the game. This summer she visited Prague in the Czech Republic to play lacrosse with the Capital Lacrosse Club. It is her competitive spirit that drives her athletic abilities and love for both field hockey and lacrosse. DeWakar was confident about the result of her next game, “I think we’ll get  ’em!” she said.
