The winners were selected from the October nomination category focusing on Transportation, Nutrition Services and Building Engineers. Congratulations to Abel Hernandez, custodian leader at Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy (LCTA) and Mike Knight, custodian at Ferdinand T. Day Elementary School (FTD)!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Hernandez was nominated by Acting Principal of LCTA Linda Ricks, who noted how he goes above and beyond his duties as a custodian on a daily basis. He has worked within ACPS for nearly nine years. \u201cMr. Hernandez is devoted, passionate and cares about doing his job with excellence,\u201d said Ricks. \u201cHe is professional, courteous, efficient and communicates clearly with others.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FTD Music Teacher Jacob Bennett nominated Mr. Knight, calling him an \u201cincredible custodian\u201d and complimenting him for his attention to detail. \u201cEven before the pandemic, he has always gone above and beyond to ensure that our school is clean and operational,\u201d said Bennett. \u201cHe truly cares about the work that he does.\u201d Mr. Knight has worked within ACPS for seven years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submit your nomination for the next staff category, Licensed Specialists by Dec. 15. This group includes ACPS psychologists, diagnosticians, nurses, therapists, counselors, social workers, athletic trainers and technology integration specialists. A winner will be announced in the first week of January 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nominations may be submitted by any group or individual employed within our school division. Each employee or group may only nominate one individual per cycle.
