The mission of NBCT is to advance student learning and achievement at the same time your teaching is taken to the next level.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">What is National Board Certification?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">The founding mission of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards is to advance the quality of teaching and learning by: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Maintaining high and rigorous standards for what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do; <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Providing a national voluntary system certifying teachers who meet these standards; <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Advocating related education reforms to integrate National Board Certification in American education and to capitalize on the expertise of National Board Certified Teachers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>What does the National Board Certification process entail? <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbpts.org\/national-board-certification\">See the NBCT website<\/a> for details.<\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>Am I eligible? <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Candidates must:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">Hold a bachelor\u2019s degree from a regionally accredited institution;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">Have at least three FULL years of teaching experience by the end of the 2018-19 school year;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s1\">Hold a valid teaching license<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Teachers interested in ACPS support should fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/710HJUQnPoHMdA5j1\">NBCT Application<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re looking for teachers to make up the next National Board Certification (NBCT) cohort.
