To view all offerings or to sign up for courses, please log into the <a href=\"https:\/\/acps.truenorthlogic.com\/U\/P\/Channel\/-\/ExternalChannel?Path=%2Fia%2Fapp%2Fcal%2FmonthTeaserV2%3Fmonth%3D9%26year%3D2016\">PLMS website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>This week\u2019s highlighted courses:<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">TestNav8 and Reading Strategies for the Reading SOL Grades 6-12<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s1\">Essential Question: How has the new TestNav8 platform changed and how can we teach students to use the new format and tools, reading strategies and test taking skills to support them on the Reading SOL test? Participants will learn the new TestNav8 platform, TEI question formats and online reading tools that are new to TextNav8. Several of the new tools will benefit all students. Additionally, teachers will leave with strategies for reviewing the skills assessed on the Reading SOL and with sample classroom ideas.\u00a0<strong>#14910<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Stewards of Children<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s1\">How can you best respond to suspected child abuse? An evidence-informed program that teaches adults how to recognize,\u00a0prevent and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. This training is led by &#8220;Darkness to Light&#8221; authorized facilitator Susan Britton, who is also a professional engaged in responding to child sexual abuse in Alexandria.\u00a0<strong>#14871\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">aimswebPlus for School Leaders<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Participants will obtain the information needed to get started with using their aimswebPlus account in a school leadership role. They will also learn to analyze spring benchmark data and determine ways to further prepare students for SOL testing.
