{"id":2447,"date":"2017-01-20T15:15:30","date_gmt":"2017-01-20T20:15:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.acpsk12.org\/staff\/?p=2447"},"modified":"2017-01-19T15:28:58","modified_gmt":"2017-01-19T20:28:58","slug":"help-us-celebrate-school-principals-appreciation-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.acpsk12.org\/staff\/help-us-celebrate-school-principals-appreciation-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Help Us Celebrate School Principals Appreciation Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Monday, January 22 marks that start of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.doe.virginia.gov\/administrators\/superintendents_memos\/2016\/310-16a.pdf\">School Principals Appreciation Week<\/a>, a special time to show our principals how much they are valued by our school community for their work throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe has designated January 22 &#8211; 28 as School Principal Appreciation Week, declaring it &#8220;an opportunity to recognize the hard work of Virginia Principals and to recognize the importance of principals in ensuring that every child has access to quality education.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here are some ways you can help recognize our principals for\u00a0the important role they play in the education of our children:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have your child hand write a letter or draw a picture expressing thanks<\/li>\n<li>Write a letter to your child\u2019s principal about the impact they have had on your school and your child<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer in your child\u2019s school to do a task that you can complete at home<\/li>\n<li>Tell us what makes your principal special on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ACPSk12\">ACPS Twitter<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/acpsk12\">Facebook<\/a>\u00a0pages so we can help spread the word using the hashtag <strong>#ThxACPSPrincipals<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Give a bouquet of flowers to brighten their day<\/li>\n<li>Tell your principal \u2018thank you\u2019 in person<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However you choose to do it, make a special point this\u00a0week to thank your principal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe has designated January 22 &#8211; 28 as School Principal Appreciation Week.
