To view all professional development offerings or to sign up for courses, please log in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/acps.truenorthlogic.com\/U\/P\/Channel\/-\/ExternalChannel?Path=%2Fia%2Fapp%2Fcal%2FmonthTeaserV2%3Fmonth%3D9%26year%3D2016\">PLMS website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>This week\u2019s highlighted courses:<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Charts-on-the-Go and Writing Toolkits: Grammar and Conventions Made Easy in Grades K-5<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s1\">How can teachers make grammar instruction \u201cstick\u201d? How can I teach grammar without a workbook? If the grammar and conventions in your students\u2019 writing makes you cringe, but you have no idea where or how to start instruction, this workshop is for you! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Participants will learn about grammar development and evidence-based best practices for grammar and conventions instruction from ACPS Writing Teacher Leaders for grades 3 &#8211; 5. Presenters will share examples of how they used charts-on-the-go and conferring toolkits to teach their students to transfer key grammar skills to their independent writing. The session will end with participants engaging in a \u201cMake &amp; Take\u201d time to create teaching charts for grammar. By the end of the session, all participants will have several fully-developed charts-on-the-go and be able to explain how to use the charts to support students in transferring skills to other contexts.
