The impact of delays and closings may be different for school-based staff vs. Central Office and other staff. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acps.k12.va.us\/closings.php\">Visit our website<\/a> for details on how each of these scenarios would impact staff.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\"><strong>Closings and Delayed Openings<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nIf schools are to be closed or have a delayed opening, we will begin distributing that message to parents and guardians\u00a0through Blackboard Connect by 5:30 a.m. The message will also be shared on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acps.k12.va.us\/\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.acps.k12.va.us\">ACPS website<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the ACPS <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ACPSk12\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ACPSk12\">Twitter<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/acpsk12\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/acpsk12\">Facebook<\/a> accounts<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"http:\/\/m.acps.k12.va.us\/\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/m.acps.k12.va.us\">ACPS mobile app<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acps.k12.va.us\/acpstv.php\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.acps.k12.va.us\/acpstv.php\">ACPS-TV<\/a> Comcast channel 71<\/li>\n<li>the ACPS emergency hotline at 703-866-5300<\/li>\n<li>local radio and TV stations<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alexandriava.gov\/eNews\">City of Alexandria\u2019s eNews<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Early Dismissals<\/strong><br \/>\nIf schools will be dismissed early, we will distribute that announcement during the school day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Opening as Regularly Scheduled<\/strong><br \/>\nIf schools are open as regularly scheduled, an announcement will not be made.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weekend Closures<\/strong><br \/>\nIf ACPS closes any or all of its facilities over a weekend, activities and events at those facilities may also be cancelled or rescheduled.
