The registration deadline is May 25, 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In-person Summer Learning for Current Students in Grades PreK-8<\/strong><br \/>\nSummer Learning 2022 is optional and offered to targeted groups of students according to a prioritization matrix. Families of students who are offered the opportunity to participate in Summer Learning 2022 were sent an email message from \u201cACPS Tech Services\u201d on May 13, 2022, with information about registration. Those interested in registering their students for Summer Learning 2022 who received this email message are asked to complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/acpsva.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_5mry9lQFtAPYYzI\">Summer Learning 2022<\/a> form by Wed., May 25, 2022, using your student&#8217;s Google ID number. The Google ID number is the information before the @ symbol in the student\u2019s email address.<\/p>\n<p>Please reach out to your school if you have questions about access or registration. The ACPS Summer Learning program will consist of four weeks of in-person learning from June 27 to July 21, 2022. Learning will take place every Monday through Thursday, except for Monday, July 4, 2022. Please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acps.k12.va.us\/Page\/3849\">ACPS Summer Learning webpage<\/a> for more detailed program information.<\/p>\n<p>Families who do not wish for their students to participate in in-person summer learning can access ACPS\u2019s asynchronous and self-directed virtual options for students currently in grades K-12. For elementary students, asynchronous items will be posted to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acps.k12.va.us\/Page\/3849\">ACPS Summer Learning webpage<\/a> on June 27, 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summer Boost\/Prep Classes for Math and English for Current Students in Grades 5-12<\/strong><br \/>\nBoost classes are free for all ACPS students. Boost courses for English and math are accessible through a student\u2019s Chromebook. This is an online course, not for credit. It is a self-directed program without online teacher support. Students can access these courses on their own time. Current students in grade seven can also take Civics and Economics, and Physical Science. This is a School Board Advisory Committee which assists with developing health policy in the school division and evaluating the status of school health, health education, mental health, substance abuse, violence prevention, the school environment and health services.<\/p>\n<p>Families, staff, students and community members may apply to join the committee. Meetings will begin in September 2022 on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, per committee members. If you have one or more GED exams to pass, it is never too late to complete the degree requirements, even if some time has gone by. The \u201cJust 1 GED 2Go\u201d is a flexible program that works to help people earn their degree. There are day and evening GED classes, some virtual options, math boot camps, free GED test vouchers and lots of help, especially with the Math GED exam.<\/p>\n<p>The welcoming and supportive teachers and staff from the Adult Learning Center (ALC) are ready to assist anyone who needs their help and support in pursuing a GED. A GED credential can help people qualify for better-paying jobs, enroll in college or even join the military.
