ACPS will transition to a new weekly COVID-19 testing vendor, Aegis, beginning Monday, March 21, 2022.

There is no school for students on Monday, March 21, 2022, at schools that follow the Alexandria City Public Schools traditional academic calendar (all schools except for Samuel W. Tucker Elementary School).

Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) hosted the first annual State of the Schools event on March 1, 2022 with Superintendent Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr. who shared updates on the school division’s work to fulfill goals of the ACPS 2025 Equity For All Strategic Plan and the 2021-22 Areas of Focus.

As part of the Identity Project, Matthew Maury Elementary School was renamed Naomi L. Brooks Elementary School on July 1, 2021.

The second annual Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) Equity for All Climate Survey will launch on Friday, March 11, 2022, and will be available online in English, Spanish, Amharic and Arabic.
