{"id":9702,"date":"2018-06-10T20:06:12","date_gmt":"2018-06-11T00:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.acpsk12.org\/news\/?p=9702"},"modified":"2018-08-22T13:20:07","modified_gmt":"2018-08-22T17:20:07","slug":"join-us-for-a-virtual-tour-of-the-new-patrick-henry-school-construction-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.acpsk12.org\/news\/?p=9702","title":{"rendered":"Join us for a Virtual Tour of the New Patrick Henry School Construction Site"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/273910675\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Recent heavy rains haven\u2019t kept the steadfast crew from making progress on the new Patrick Henry School and Recreation Center \u2014 and neither will the impending summer heat.<\/p>\n<p>This month marks the one-year anniversary of the start of construction at the Patrick Henry site. While you may not envision a school and recreation center at this stage, major work will take place this summer to help the new buildings take shape and be ready for students early next year.<\/p>\n<p>The giant gray structure that dominates the landscape will be weatherproofed and walled-in on the interior and finished with masonry brick on the exterior. Classrooms, offices and activity spaces will begin to take shape.<\/p>\n<p>Energy efficient windows will fill the blank spaces that punctuate the evolving structure and the roofing will be completed. So long to standing water and mud!<\/p>\n<p>Door frames will be set and the mechanics of the building \u2014 piping, duct work, wiring and related equipment \u2014 will be installed. Next comes establishing permanent utility services, like water, electricity and cable.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll top off the site so that the grounds are prepped and ready for permanent landscaping in the coming months and for the installation of the bus loop.<\/p>\n<p>Once the new facility is in full use, the old facility will be demolished.
