The selected work of art will be used to help publicize the City\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alexandriava.gov\/EarthDay\">Earth Day celebration<\/a> on Saturday, April 28, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lenny Harris Memorial\u00a0Fields at Braddock Park, adjacent to George Washington Middle School.<\/p>\n<p>ACPS students are invited to submit original, two-dimensional, wordless artwork based on their interpretation of the theme \u201cLocal Action, Global Impact.\u201d The selected artwork will be printed on Earth Day t-shirts, reusable shopping bags, posters, fliers, and advertising to donors and will be featured on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alexandriava.gov\/EarthDay\">City of Alexandria Earth Day<\/a>\u00a0website. The artist will be recognized in the Earth Day program\u00a0and invited to the Earth Day Proclamation reading at a City Council Meeting.<\/p>\n<p>A collection of submitted artwork will be on display at the Earth Day celebration and in Alexandria\u2019s City Hall the week prior to the celebration.<\/p>\n<p>The Earth Day Planning Committee will select the winning artwork based on creativity, content, composition and relationship to the theme, &#8220;Local Action, Global Impact.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The deadline to submit artwork is 6 p.m. on Friday, January 26 to UpCycle Creative Resue Center, 1605 Cameron Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314.
