Free breakfast, lunch and snacks are available to city residents 18 years old and younger through the U.S. Department of Agriculture at 15 ACPS sites, 14 City Recreation Centers and other sites over the summer.<\/p>\n

Anyone in the community 18 years of age and younger is eligible to receive summer meals at no cost. All meals will be served free of charge, regardless of what a child’s meal benefit was during the regular school year.<\/p>\n

A parent or guardian should accompany children on the first visit to register and identify any food allergies. At a site, children will go through the cafeteria line and pick up the meal. They may eat in the cafeteria or in the classroom, at the discretion of the principal.<\/p>\n

There is space at each site for community members 18 years old and younger to enjoy their meal. Times of service are posted on each school door.<\/p>\n

The Summer Food Service Program for Children is a federally funded program operated nationally by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the USDA regional office.<\/p>\n

The Summer Food Program is part of the ACPS 2020 Strategic Plan<\/a> Health and Wellness goal, which promotes efforts to enable students to be healthy and ready to learn so that Every Student Succeeds. The ACPS Office of School Nutrition Services is committed to helping our students improve their academic performance through good nutrition. We are pleased to feed students all year round.<\/p>\n
