Content with the way things are,
\nThe distance between the waves,
\nAnd my sanity that lays between my pillows,
\nAnd the paths that are intertwined within my sheets.
\nThis makes it even harder to sleep.
\nDrifting away mentally by the sound,
\nOf the moon’s whispers.
\nI am free.
\nMaybe not physically, but mentally,
\nLying alone;
\nI am free.
\nLiterally trapped in the dark paradise,
\nThat appears to have pinkish walls.
\nThis soothes yet terrifies me,
\nLike the calmness of the forest right before the thunder rolls in,
\nLike a drum that rapidly excels as you cover your ears.
\nThe sun went down;
\nLeft us hours ago,
\nLeaving us here with the moon and her,
\nPerfections that not everyone sees,
\nBut we admire her glimmering reflections,
\nAs she gives light to the darkness.
\nShining her gracefulness upon the tree trunks and branches,
\nGiving us life, so effortlessly the way
\nTheir leaves blow in the wind as if discomfort
\nWas unknown.
\nThe natural movement of nature is what
\nBrings me back.
\nThe calming of her whispers is what gets
